GET VACCINATED AGAINST HPV

The goal of STD/HIV counseling and treatment services is to prevent the spread of Sexually Transmitted Diseases, including HIV infection. The BRDHD provides services to any person who is currently infected or has been in contact with a person with a STD and/or HIV. Services offered include:

  • Screening

  • Examination

  • Diagnosis

  • Treatment

  • Control

  • Referral

Each local health department works closely with their Disease Intervention Specialist for treatment referrals and contact investigation when needed. Local health care facilities, including private physicians and hospitals, may refer patients to BRDHD for services. Furthermore, they are required to report all confirmed STD/HIV cases to the local health department or KY Department of Public Health.
